The VASILIS GOUZIOS QUARTET and CRAIG BAILEY, talented saxophone player and permanent member of Ray Charles’ orchestra since 1987, got together on Friday the 12th of March 2010 at SYNERGY-O, for a one-off jazz experience.
The VASILIS GOUZIOS QUARTET reveals the Greek musical talent by bringing New York jazz closer to a mainstream bebop sound. CRAIG BAILEY is one of the most active alto saxophone players in New York. He is known for his warm and lyrical sound, as well as the special rapport he develops with his audience. He has formed a long-lasting collaboration with Ray Charles as well as the quartet led by drummer Akira Tana and bassist Rufus Reid and has worked with Tom Harrell, Bobby Watson, Art Blakey and Benny Carter among other top jazz musicians.
